I am generally not the guy to post comments on people's blog posts, but for your write up I simply needed to do it. I've been browsing around your site a lot nowadays and I am really impressed, I think you could potentially emerge as one of the main voices for your niche. Not sure what your schedule is like in life, but if you started devoting more effort to writing on this site, I'd bet you would begin receiving a lot of traffic eventually. With affiliate stuff, it might emerge as a sweet second income stream. Just something to think about. Good luck!

Ha Ha!! Leave it to you to make me validate my thoughts :) Thanks for that.
Let me clarify a couple of things. I do not trust government because I have seen government grow into the monster that it is today. And, I didn't say I trusted an energy executive, I said I would trust a businessman to make good business decisions over any politician any day.

The main point of this article was that people were signing a petition without even knowing what it was for, all in the name of "save the planet". Anybody who reads this blog can plainly see that I'm a big time nature lover :) So, yeah, I think we need to be energy conscious, and I believe we need to find clean energy sources that are also affordable. I don't think we should penalize people for using energy just to push an agenda that may or may not be based on valid science.

And as for education funding, round here the government pushed through a lottery even though it was voted down twice in general elections. It all happened in a midnight session. The money was to go to education. It didn't, and still doesn't. Wonder who is getting that money?

My point is that people blindly follow after their political party or their "guy" or "gal", without even knowing what their motives are in most cases. It all seems to be about what jersey you're wearing, instead of what's actually best for the people of this country.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I'm sure that the there are plenty of people with good intentions doing and supporting very harmful things in the name of planet salvation. I'm not anti conservation, I'm anti ignorance :) I just think people need to know what they are supporting, and why, instead of just saying, "It will help save the planet." It has become an excuse for far too many absolutely idiotic programs. (banning incandescent lights)

I am confident that somebody will find the answers to our energy problems, and I am 100% positive that it will not be a politician.

Thanks for the comment, cuz :)

I don't know anything about the petition for the bill in your state. However it's interesting that you would trust an energy company over a politician, afterall both their motivations are the same: Money. At least the politicians make an attempt at doing what their constituants want (arguable how much of one), the energy companies (read that corporate america, if you like) are only motivated by money. Only. They don't care about getting re-elected. Your assertation that Energy Companies would conserve just cause they are nice guys, is misguided, Joe.

And take it easy on the guy getting petitions signed, he's trying to do the right thing, trying to care about our planet in opposition to folks who don't. He's not trying to make money, he's not trying to fool you or hurt you, but in his own way try to make a difference.

We can't fund our schools because most of the money for education goes to making upper class executives, superintendents who make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for non-education related jobs (they are administrative jobs); the money for education is being filtered to republicans :) It's interesting that you (and yes i'm generalizing you republicans, sorry) bemoan stuff you benefit from. It's like the interesting trend of those who are religeous to support a money and capitalism in general; I'd say the bible plainly (or maybe not so plainly) indicates that the love of money and personal gain over everything else is wrong. Feel free to indicates the parts that say "screw the planet" and "let thy brother get his own" :)

The problem with all these bills are not the bills or the beurocracy that they create, but the pork that is added to them by republican and democrat alike. Everyone is trying to get a piece of the money being spent for their district (or for themselves in some odd way). That's not a partisan issue tho, both sides do it.

Your views sound more libertarian than republican. You should probably stop listening to the neo-cons so much and maybe talk and listen to some real conservatives (neo-cons aren't it by the way).
