Your sister may not be a bad person, but stealing is a bad thing, no matter what it was that was stolen. The point is that she stole, and used her own child as cover. Then, she attempted to escape, and resisted, while holding the baby.
It isn’t the fact that she stole wine. If she would have stolen diapers, it would still be wrong. She isn’t the victim, the store is.
I’m not sure where you get the “gossip” comment, but the news story, and my article, provide facts, not gossip.
You should absolutely love your sister, even if she is a crook But you shouldn’t condone or defend what she did, or try to make us believe she is a victim. Her child is a victim, and the store is a victim. She is an offender.

Can she help it? Absolutely, yes! There are way too many options out there in this victim society. She made a choice to take the “easy” way and steal. Simple as that.
