So, he didn’t show up for court? Big surprise, there. In fact, in my experience, more than half of accused shoplifters don’t bother to show up for that first court date. In some cases, defense attorneys play a game of postponing these dates over and over again, hoping that the LP witness gets tired and doesn’t show up, and then they can get the case dismissed for lack of evidence, witnesses, etc.
That doesn’t appear to be the case here. Granger just didn’t show up, and the court has no record of an attorney for him, according to news sources.
Maybe DeMarcus has a good reason for skipping his court hearing. I don’t want to speculate until more details are available. I just thought I’d pass along the info to you, my readers.
A warrant was issued this morning for Oklahoma sophomore defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger in the amount of $1,000, according to acting deputy Jeanette Wiesenhofer of the Tempe (Ariz.) municipal court criminal division.
